The Berpart Lohberg in Dinslaken opened its doors to the public at the end of October 2014 with a public ceremony. Heinrich Walter Bau (HWB) completed the park as one of the milestones in the wider Kreativ.Quartier Lohberg (KQL) project for the clients RAG and the city of Dinslaken.

The Borken-based construction company has already redeveloped a number of former industrial and often polluted areas and prepared them for construction. The Dinslaken Bergpark now comprises the colliery's former slag piles as landmarks, playgrounds and the newly created Lohberger Weiher pond. This will collect the rainwater from the centre of the KQL region and from the industrial estate. It is not intended for swimming but as a water resource with lake pavilions and shore terraces that will invite you to linger.

The lake terraces are a transition point to the Bergpark. To construct it, civil engineers remediated and reinstalled the soil, took care of the fine course, the necessary base and surface courses and almost 17,000 square metres of water-bound decking. Steps and walls were erected along the lake promenade as well as on the lawn steps and the water tower viewpoint.

The Bergpark is among several contracts that Heinrich Walter Bau has completed at the site since 2013. This includes earth and sewer work including infiltration basins, two rainwater retention basins made of in-situ concrete as well as surface sealing of the Lohberger Weiher using an asphalt construction.
